4 months of constipation hell

I never had a constipation problem in my life. Then four months ago, following a barium upper GI test, I was unable to have a bowel movement. After ten days I went to the ER to check whether there was hardened barium left in my intestines, but nothing showed up on the x-rays. I took every kind of laxative and nothing worked. Neither did prune juice or added fiber. After two weeks of being constipated, I started doing enemas at least three to four times a week and am able to eliminate only small amounts of diarrhea. Because of that I'm eating a lot less and rapidly losing weight, which I can't afford to lose because I was underweight to begin with. Two months ago I had a colonoscopy, but nothing abnormal was found--aside from a dilated colon caused by the constipation. I've been to several doctors and all they do is recommend laxatives or a change of diet. I'm convinced that something is seriously wrong with my colon--it feels like a blockage, but nothing shows up on the tests. I am bloated, nauseous, tired and full of gas most of the time. Regular enemas are screwing up my electrolytes and leaving my brain in a fog. My condition is making me seriously depressed. I want to escape this hell, I want my life back, but I can't find seem to find one decent doctor to help me! Any ideas?
Little Linda Pinda, the most recent doctor I saw was a proctologist. He didn't find any blockage in my rectum, which was no surprise, since the obstruction that I feel is higher up in the colon. He offered the usual irrelevant advice about adding more fiber, prune juice etc. to my diet. What he and the GI specialist I saw failed to grasp is that I do not have normal constipation, but a colon that does not function properly. And yes I am aware of the dangers of enemas and laxatives. But for the past four months, the ONLY way I can eliminate is with an enema. So if I don't use enemas, I don't eat. And if I don't eat, I starve. Pure and simple.I am still pursuing help, but I'm finished with conventional doctors. With very few exceptions, they are arrogant and narrow-minded, and have nothing to offer but bad advice, drugs and surgery. In my case they have done me more harm than good. From now on, I am placing my faith in alternative practitioners, who as a whole are far more imaginative than the quack MD's.
Hi ,are you better? Have you settled your constipation problem? If not I can share with you my success story of my daughter who has chronic constipation for 4 years and was cured incidentally and naturally without any drugs.
